Stainless steel camlock coupling has a wide application in food or sanitary environments & highly corrosive applications. It effectively prevents contamination of product to be transported.

Al Camlock Coupling is available for water, petroleum products, slurry and dry powder for its good chemical and abrasion resistance. It is an economical, lightweight yet strong metal.  Black polypropylene camlocks are widely used in suction/discharge hoses of agriculture or industrial applications. They are much cheaper than stainless steel or bass. At the same time, it can't stand up with as much strength as metal camlocks.

Glass fiber reinforced nylon couplings are resistant to hydrocarbons, solvents, most chemical chemicals expect for acid-based fertilizers.  Similar to stainless steel, brass camlocks have good corrosion resistance and long service life. However, brass couplings are less expensive and softer & easier to thread. They are compatible with water, coolants, hydraulic oils, gasolines and petroleum products. However, camlock couplings are not suitable for all applications. They are commonly used in low pressure suction or discharge hoses.
